*tap, tap* Ahem...Is this thing ON?!

So I've been blogging and posting photos for quite a while now and have no clue if anyone other than me is reading them. I am hoping eventually SOMEONE will comment. Maybe I have at least one reader (my mom maybe?)? In any case, I'm going to post anyway. Yesterday was absolutely glorious and I didn't have any shoots lined up but was dying to photograph SOMETHING so I decided to stop by the cemetery my dad is buried at and got some pretty cool shots. Some people may think it's a little morbid but I think cemeteries have some really cool designs and beauty in them. This one is Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon which is very well known for it's history and designs.

Weekend Favorites

This weekend wasn't too exciting. I tried doing some shooting around the yard quite a few times, didn't catch much other than some sinus headaches. I'll keep this short and sweet so here are the favs from the weekend.

Anxiety is killing me!

Ever have one of those days (or several days) when you are so anxious to be farther than you are that you can barely stand it? Well, I do and this is one of those days. It doesn't even make sense how eager I feel to learn more with the photography and do more but I'm at a point where I don't know how to further myself other than finding more to shoot and learning through trial and error. I may have found someone I have always respected & thought highly of, is going to give me some help but I can't ask for too much. And quite frankly, I don't know what to ask for! I know what I want to accomplish but don't know how to get there. I know, it's crazy...or maybe I'm just crazy. Could be both! In any case, I won't post the details but I am hoping my blast from the past is going to be the light in my dark that I have been needing.

I have such incredible ideas for shots ...just sitting there...in my head... LOL I am sure all photographers do this and I believe I've read that a lot will jot them down on things such as napkins in hopes to one day use them. I happen to be terrible at drawing though. So in my head they will sit until the opportunity arises. I am going to try to find some willing subjects this weekend to (force...no beg!) ask to stand there and met me work around them.

More laterz!

One light or 2 light wonders

With all that can be found online for the many ways to use lights and types of lights and configurations...it's still amazing how much can be done with either one or 2 speedlites which is typically all I use. I have 3 but generally end up just using 2 at the most or one and a reflector.

Friday nite I met with some friends that wanted some headshots. We had a blast riding around with me yelling STOP HERE! At a few places that just screamed "I'm a backdrop!" One was a beautiful red building and then we went to the local base and stopped at two ponds/lakes. There was a storm brewing the entire time so I had to move quick each time and get things out and set up. We only made it to 3 spots when the sky literally broke loose.

Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

On Saturday I went to see an old friend I'd not seen in a while. We thought it would be fun to get outside for a little quick shooting amidst her daughters running rampant. Geez kids are fast! I was lucky to even get these shots at all. I used one light for some shots but most were strictly sunlit. It was 90+ with 100% humidity so we couldn't stay out there long for fear of melting. After I put my equipment up, the smallest one hopped in the little wading pool - too bad I had put my camera up!
